The funds will primarily support the development and implementation of a user-friendly, comprehensive app that empowers homeless youth to navigate encounters with law enforcement, including software development, content creation, and user interface design. Additionally, resources will be allocated to outreach efforts to engage homeless youth communities and promote app adoption. The goal is to empower homeless youth with a comprehensive understanding of their Fourth Amendment rights during interactions with law enforcement in public spaces. This initiative addresses the unique challenges and vulnerabilities faced by homeless youth, often navigating precarious situations involving law enforcement in streets, shelters, and parks.
