The Cady Learning Center Foundation was established for the purpose of planning, developing, financing, and maintaining the Chief Justice Mark S. Cady Judicial Learning Center. The Center will be located on the first floor of the Judicial Branch Building and provide an interactive educational experience for students and adults to build awareness, understanding, and appreciation for Iowa’s judicial system.
The Judicial Learning Center is expected to bring thousands of visitors to the Judicial Branch Building each year, including groups of students and classes from across the state. The Center will also provide educational materials, resources, lesson plans, and activities for students and teachers to learn about the judicial branch and its role in our state government.
This specific grant is anticipated to be used to fund the development of a website for the Judicial Learning Center, which will provide information about the project and assist in fundraising efforts for the CLCF.
The hope is to inspire future generations of legal and civic leaders and aspires to be a symbol of pride for the Iowa bar by providing highly interactive and engaging exhibits that tell Iowa’s rich legal history. The Judicial Learning Center will serve as a model for other states to increase awareness and knowledge of legal and judicial engagement across the country.
