The Iowa State Bar Association (ISBA) Elder Law Section has requested funding for assistance in reprinting the popular and updated Older Iowan Handbook. Originally published in 1988 by the ISBA Young Lawyers Division, the handbook has undergone recent revisions by the ISBA Elder Law Section. Their dedication to providing crucial information about the law and programs for older Iowans remains unwavering.
The “Handbook for Older Iowans” serves as a comprehensive and user-friendly legal reference for seniors in Iowa. It offers a wide range of valuable resources and guidance specifically tailored to their needs and concerns. The latest edition, the 7th edition, is available in a digital format online allowing easy access for those seeking guidance and knowledge. Additionally, a printable version is available online.
While many older Iowans do utilize the internet, many do not. In addition, those with incapacity rely upon family members or friends to navigate their legal needs. These funds will provide for copies of the Handbook for Older Iowans to be printed so all have access to this information.
This grant promotes education on legal topics and is a reliable and reliable source of information. The handbook furthers public understanding of the law and improves access to the legal system.
